NICOLAS JAAR TO REMIX BRIAN ENO, GRIZZLY BEAR
Nicolas Jaar is set to step in and remix Brian Eno and Grizzly Bear for a one off Record Store Day release.
Record Store Day is fast approaching. For music geeks, this is a superb chance to get your hands on some rare music, often featuring tracks which would otherwise be unavailable.
Warp Records are gearing up for some exclusive releases, and this morning detailed plans for a one-off twelve inch. Nicolas Jaar will hook up with the seminal label, and the producer will be able to re-work two hugely important artists.
Material from Grizzly Bear and Brian Eno will be re-worked, following successful albums on the label last year. Grizzly Bear returned with Shields while Brian Eno released the typically thought-provoking full length Lux.
Out on April 20, the one-off release will be pressed in a special fashion. A quote from Warp: "Designed and printed by Edwin Pickstone & Ivor Williams on a FAG Control 525 Swiss-built semi-automatic cylinder proofing press in Glasgow. Type was a mix of thirty-five line sans condensed and fifty lined grotesque super-condensed and was left eighty percent black, deliberately broken print to echo the sentiment of remixes carrying the remnants of the original."
All very intriguing.
Here's the tracklisting:
A - Brian Eno: Lux (Nicolas Jaar Remix)
AA - Grizzly Bear: Sleeping Ute (Nicolas Jaar Remix)
