BRIAN ENO - APOLLO: ATMOSPHERES & SOUNDTRACKS
Brainiac's lunar-themed masterpiece revisited.
Reissued to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, this 1983 score to Al Reinert's NASA doc was a similarly landmark recording for Brian Eno (plus brother Roger and producer Daniel Lanois). Deep Blue Day's beatific glide and An Ending(Ascent)'s hymnal grace, in particular, conjure an eerie, cosmic ambience that perfectly encapsulate what astronaut Buzz Aldrin described as space's "magnificent desolation". Includes new LP, For All Mankind, making it truly indispensable
