Uncut JANUARY 2010 - by Chris Roberts
FOR ALL MANKIND: SPECIAL EDITION
From 1968 to 1972 those bold few aboard the Apollo missions were given sixteen-millimetre cameras to film anything they liked. Two decades on, from the resulting hundreds of hours in the NASA vaults, Al Reinert assembled a poetic, powerful piece. A mosaic voiceover of the astronauts' memories and a mesmerising Brian Eno score make this one of the most awe-inspiring "documentaries" of the last century.
EXTRAS: Commentary by Reinert and astronaut Eugene Cernan, Making Of, NASA audio highlights and lift-off footage, booklet with Eno interview.
