Walking along the river
In the town where I was born
There were images stretching out to the horizon
I'm adding some decoration
From the ceiling to the floor
I've been using these pictures for my medication

From the kingdom to the sofa
Little steps from here to there

Animals birds and trees are transformed
In the fire - Burning all night long
Metamorphosis monkeys and spiders -
That's the way it's done

Putting some words together
I believe we're almost home
Floating along forever
Maybe it's now or never
I can see what we have done

Animals birds and trees gently whisper
To guide her - this is what they say
"Every transformation wears formal attire -
Unto its resting place"

I'm taking a piece of paper
I'm writing myself a letter
When the day is long I'm setting it down
Beginning my own adventure
They call me the mad professor
I keep writing - most of the time

Gentle father - who will help me?
Gentle mother - who can tell me?
Gentle children - who will take you?
Gentle people - for the table

The Eyes

All, all in those eyes
Everything is clear in those eyes
Wonders still appear in those eyes

Deep, deep in those eyes
I can see such wealth in those eyes
I can lose myself in those eyes

As the moon
Does wax and wane
Like waves across the human brain
The rise and fall
Of sea and sand
Cast the violent hand of man - away...

Far, far away eyes
Nothing needs to change in those eyes
Love and hate the same in those eyes
Those eyes

The Painting

Oh I will set - my easel out
And lay the paints - all round about

From dark to light - from red to blue
From hot to cool - in every hue

With oil and brush - and when applied
Confronts the mind - delights the eye
With modern words - and modern line
In time the surface come to life

As green becomes the happy wife
Who joins her spouse on pallet knife

They start to sing - They blend and shine
They run and drip - To reflect the light

And soon the surface comes to life
The alchemy - the mixer's art
The colours blend - inside our hearts
