ROXY MUSIC - THE THRILL OF IT ALL: A VISUAL HISTORY, 1972-1982
A first studio album since Avalon is due; rock's pop-art experiment is revisited.
Thirty-five years have passed since they first appeared, yet time has rendered Roxy Music even stranger than how we remember them. This 2-DVD anthology collates concerts, TV appearances and promos to create a picture of a genuinely unique band. Phase 1 of Roxy won all the plaudits and is captured here by the original promo for Re-Make/Re-Model, filmed at the Royal College Of Art, a Top Of The Pops performance of Virginia Plain and a previously unreleased Editions Of You from 1973, recorded during Eno's last filmed gig with Roxy. Yet the mid-'70s version of the band and the re-formed final incarnation of the early '80s, with aristocratic pop perfection, were no less important, if never quite so ludicrously ahead of the game.
