ARCADE FIRE, LOU REED, DAVID BYRNE JOIN PETER GABRIEL COVERS ALBUM
Feist and Bon Iver also contributing to And I'll Scratch Yours
Arcade Fire, Bon Iver and David Byrne are among the artists who will contribute songs to an upcoming Peter Gabriel covers album. In 2010, Gabriel released Scratch My Back, a collection that covered songs by Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Radiohead and David Byrne, and now the artists are returning the favor, according to Gabriel's website.
The follow-up, appropriately titled And I'll Scratch Yours, features all but two of the artists featured on Gabriel's Scratch My Back. Joseph Arthur and Feist were added to the lineup of artists, replacing Radiohead and Neil Young after they were unable to contribute.
The reciprocating artists took varied approaches when it came to tackling their respective Gabriel songs. Brian Eno, for example, reinterpreted Mother Of Violence futuristically, while Lou Reed adds some snarling to Solsbury Hill.
And I'll Scratch Yours will be released on September 23.
