ROGER ENO & BRIAN ENO: MIXING COLOURS

The brothers from another planet

That it has taken these two serial collaborators so long to formally work together is, in itself, something of a wonder. As you might expect, the results find both Eno brothers - Enoi? - playing harmoniously to their strengths. On Dark Sienna, for instance, Roger Eno's piano refrain is underpinned by subtle textural shading from his elder brother; the keyboard notes on Verdigris, falling like droplets, call to mind Brian's Bloom app; thepiano lines of Quicksilver shimmer lightly, as if they've been treated. The result is, much as you'd expect, elegant and tranquil.
