BRIAN ENO: ANOTHER DAY ON EARTH

Collection of songs from ambient innovator.

Brian Eno has two bodies of work. One is ambient; extended and atmospheric works such as Neroli and Thursday Afternoon. The other is song-based, including Taking Tiger Mountain and Another Green World; beautiful watercolour pop miniatures featuring Eno's arch vocals and oblique wordplay - though both categories bleed into each other. Ostensibly song-based, Another Day On Earth evokes images of orbit as Eno wheels serenely around the planet he created long ago. It's a series of unfailingly sweet, subdued pieces that revisit a few of his old motifs. Exceedingly pleasant, if hardly groundbreaking.
